3. A turtle laying eggs on the beach

Description
Indirectly, turtles demonstrate the existence of continental drift- the movement of the plates that make up the Earth's crust. Millions of years ago, turtles used the islands close to their marine habitat as a safe place to lay their eggs. As the floor of the Atlantic spread, this involved a longer and longer journey as the Atlantic increased in width. Today the turtles have a journey of thousands of miles and demonstrate a considerable feat of navigation.
