This picture is one of the two bomb pits, where "Fat Man" and "Little Boy" were stored before being dropped on Japan. The bombs were so large, they had to be several meters below ground and lifted into the bomb bay doors of the "Enola Gay" and "Bock's Car". This simple memorial marks the spot where the most destructive force known to man was stored before being used.
