All the images in this gallery were taken in the parish of Saline in west Fife.
If you climb the hill above Saline, following the edge of the attractive golf course, you will eventually reach this strange structure. It looks like a watch tower, but these are normally associated with graveyards of which there are none close by. Most likely it is some sort of Victorian folly built by the landowner to impress his neighbours.
Close by on the very summit of the hill, is an ancient standing stone which suggests that Bandrum Hill was once the scene of mysterious rituals. The monolith is being shown very little respect, draped in barbed wire and used as part of the dyke.
